Pinto Lake Valentine

Pinto Lake Valentine

After the great blog demo by Lorraine and Sue, the cold weather and Valentines Day activities deterred most of us from painting.  Having brought all my plein air gear, I figured if anything caught my eye on the way home, I might just break out the ole easel… Sure enough, flowering trees kept calling my name, and I ended up at Pinto Lake County Park.

Surprisingly the cool and humid day turned into a warm and sunny afternoon paint out. While painting the flowering plum trees in full pink bloom, I thought of all of you.  So  grateful  for your friendship and fellowship of the paintbrush!

  1. Beautiful painting, Karin! Sorry I couldn’t join you, but the baby was pretty darling that afternoon, too. Thanks, Lorraine, for putting up my paintings on the gallery…I’ll try to get some more recent ones to you soon. I think the color is fine, by the way.

I did a new hydrangea painting today using Hedi Moran’s technique, along with some French country china…fun for a change, but can’t wait to get back out to Pt. Lobos!
